Interview: Big Ben talks about Hall of Fame Game, Pre-Season

(KDKA) LATROBE Steelers' QB Ben Roethlisberger talked to reporters about Sunday's Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio.

He also talked about the importance of pre-season games.

Ben talks to KDKA after practice on Saturday.Importance of playing against someone who isn't black and gold?
"It will feel good to get out there and kind of put to use what we've been putting the hard work in on. It gets frustrating playing against our own guys. Tempers flare sometimes. They've seen the same plays over and over. So, it's going to be good to go out and play against someone else."

Are pre-season games a good barometer for the upcoming season.
"I always use the example that a couple years ago we didn't win a preseason game and we went pretty far. Pre-season is a good time to get and get the rust off and play against somebody else and try to stay injury free and learn from mistakes that we make."

Will the team be at regular season form?
"We are always going to progress. We always want to get better and every week we plan on getting better. I don’t think we'll ever be satisfied with where we are at. But we are going to continue to put in the work. That's why the pre-season games are good to work the little bit of time we are in there."

On planning for the first game.
"It's just us going over offensive plays. So, weren't not adjusting at the last minute. We aren't making changes on the sideline like we'd would during the regular season. That's why you don’t look too much into win loss or what happens."

Will any of the new offense be on display this week?
"I think we are going to go out and play Bruce Arians' Steelers football whatever that is. We don’t want to show off too much stuff because we don’t want to give too many things away. Were not going to run the ball every play. We aren't going to run the ball every play."
