Roethlisberger Teaches At Elite Quarterback Camp

Ben Roethlisberger completed Steeler mini camp today but that didn't end his day.

He went from player to coach as a guest instructor for one of the top quarterback clinics in the country which came to Pittsburgh this weekend.

The clinic, Air 7 QBU, is designed to provide young quarterbacks with cutting edge training created for and by NFL players.

Steve Clarkson, the lead instructor, started the camp nearly 20 years ago.

The camp, held at Dormont Stadium, attracted some of the biggest and best high school names locally and across the country - including Hall of Famer Joe Montana's sons Nicholas and Nathaniel, in addition to the son of Academy Award nominated actor Will Smith, Will Smith III.

"This is something that I wish I had growing up," Montana said. "You know, our boys have been working with Steve for a while now and we think it's great."

The camp offers kids the chance not only to compare themselves against some of the best competition around the country, but they also get to learn from some of the best quarterbacks who have gone through the same camp.

Roethlisberger went through the camp when he was in high school.

"I think what it does is offers kids an opportunity to see what it takes to get to that next level," he said. "If they truly want to get to the next level to become the best at quarterback, then this is the place to be."
