July 31, 20102764 viewsFrom an article in Canada's Globe and Mail newspaper:
Roethlisberger, so disliked in Pittsburgh a few months ago that he wondered if he'd ever regain a sliver of his previous support, was greeted warmly by an enthusiastic crowd estimated at 10,000 on Saturday at Saint Vincent College. He heard few, if any jeers, and many fans appeared to go out of their way to embrace him.
There were cheers when Roethlisberger and wide receiver Hines Ward arrived on the practice field together, and more when the quarterback found Antwaan Randle El on a pass route.
Pumped up by the response, Roethlisberger couldn't recall throwing a single incompletion during a nearly two-hour practice.
“I was nervous, scared, anxious, a lot of emotions,†Roethlisberger said.

August 1, 2010720 viewsFrom Ben's chat with the media on the first day of camp:
Q: Other than all of the questions, did it feel like a pretty normal day at camp?
Ben: “It did, surprisingly enough. Once we started walking down the stands and hearing them cheer and giving them high fives, we got on the field and I kind of got lost in just being out here at camp and being at St. Vincent’s. That’s what we said getting here, everything that has happened we’ve put behind us because it’s time for football now. That’s what it’s about, is getting out here and winning championships.â€
Q: Were there butterflies?
Ben: “Oh absolutely. There always are. It’s the first say of camp you always have a little bit. There was a little bit more for me.â€
Q: Did they pretty much settle down by the time you get on the field because of the reception you got from fans?
Ben: “Yeah, they did. During stretching I felt pretty good.â€
Q: Did you dread coming out to practice in the afternoon?
Ben: “Not dread it. I was nervous. Nervous and scared and anxious. A lot of emotions.â€
Q: How do you separate football from your personal life? Is that difficult?
Ben: “I feel pretty good about being able to compartmentalize. It makes you human when you’re scared. It’s a challenge and there’s going to be more challenges ahead of us but football is kind of my escape, my getaway.â€
Q: How has this offseason changed you?
Ben: “I feel it’s humbled me and made me a better person. All of the things that have happened are all behind us now. Now it’s all about moving forward and football and focusing on that.â€
Q: Did you chose to walk out to practice with Hines or was that coincidental?
Ben: “I was getting ready to walk out and Hines was there and he said, ‘Hold on, let’s go out together.’ â€
Q: Did that help?
Ben: “Yeah, it was nice.â€

He makes up these pretend stories and they go on adventures around the house where they have to sneak through forests and cross crocodile infested rivers…in this photo, Benjamin is cautiously heading down the stairs to check and see if the coast is clear! It’s a very intense and scary moment in this particular adventure! lol!" — Ashley.
