In memory of Grant Seward529 viewsAt age 22 my son Grant (wearing Ben's jersey) was the biggest fan that Ben and the Steelers could ever have! On Nov 2, 2011 he died.
In his short life he had converted many northern KY families from Bengals to Steelers fans. He would drive hundreds of miles to be in Heinz Field on game day and even to the Superbowl. He loved the Steelers more than anything. He had the Steelers emblem tattooed on his upper arm, banners on the house, Steelers lounge chair, Steelers jerseys, jackets, t-shirts, pants, sheets, pillows, truck emblems, steering wheel and hitch cover, and on and on. It was who he was.
His dream was for me to attend a game at Heinz Field which we had planned to do this year in December against the Bengals. My work schedule had prevented me from attending in the past even though I had wanted to very much. Last night the Steelers played the Bengals at Paul Brown Stadium. Me and my girls went in our Steelers gear in memory of their brother Grant.
Just wanted to thank Ben and the Steelers team for that awesome win. It was such a tribute to my son who I know was there in spirit with a big smile on his face.

June 3, 2010 - Ben addresses the media921 viewsBen's statement:
"I know you guys have been waiting to talk to me, and I have to you. I just want to let you guys know how good it is to be back on the field. It’s been a long time away. It’s been hard, but I’ve been putting in a lot of time and effort, and working hard, both on and off the field, while I’ve been gone. It’s not the same. I love football to death, but I think it’s meant more to be out here with my teammates, my brothers, my family, if you will, so that’s what has been really neat about being back out here.
"I’ve put a lot of thought into my life, decisions I’ve made in the past that I’ve been sitting at home thinking about things, and working closely with the Commissioner on ways to make changes, corrections. I’m looking forward to the second chance and the second opportunity, not just in football – because I think everybody knows what you’re going to get in football – but in life. I think that’s what is more important. I’m happy to be out here, and even kind of happy to see you guys again.
"Like I said I'm happy to be back out here, even kind of happy to see you guys again. So, maybe I'll take a question or two."
