From Ben's radio show on December 2, 2014:
On the hit to the wrist of his throwing hand (off the wrist protector of a Saints player) -
It’s just one of those things that happens to quarterbacks a lot. We hit peoples hands, helmets and shoulder pads when we throw. I have had things happen like that before and it’s not an excuse. you got to play through it. It’s not as big of a deal as I think people probably made it to be.

August 1, 2010 - Training Camp1946 viewsBen poses with Alyssa.
Erin,
After a long 4-hour trip with my mom and brother, we finally made it to our very first Steelers training camp. We picked a spot on the hill and practice finally started to take place. After practice was just about over, I was thinking if I would actually have the chance to meet a Steelers player. Unfortunately, I started seeing all of the players being carted off of the field.
Just before we were about to call it a day, we saw a crowd of people and saw that Ben was signing autographs. My brother and I rushed over just to get a glimpse. After almost being completely consumed by the huge crowd of fans, my brother was able to get his autograph. Not having anything for him to sign, i just wanted a picture with him. I patiently waited as he signed autographs and took pictures with the fans. When it finally came to my turn, Ben heard me quietly ask for a picture.
He truly could not have been not only nice to me, but to everyone. He made my first trip to Steelers training camp a memory I will never forget.
