July 27, 2012 - Jeffrey Metz876 views...Jeffrey calls his experience with Ben "A miracle in Pennsylvania"! Later that night, Jeffrey took his shoe into the Mt Pleasant Dairy Queen to show all the employees what Ben gave him. The manager even posted a photo of Jeffrey with Ben's shoe on Facebook . Many family, friends, and even strangers have heard this story and everyone has gotten both chills and tears in their eyes.
The shoe has already traveled to Richmond, VA for a visit, and the next stop is Disney World, because Jeffrey wants to share it with Mickey Mouse. Jeffrey says he just wants to make a difference in this world and for some one to hear him, and on Friday July 27, 2012, the one person Jeffrey journeyed 4,200 miles to see in person did hear him ... and that was Ben Roethlisberger.
Ben's kindness brought joy to Jeffrey's daily struggles and made him forget them for one day. Jeffrey says it was the best day of his life. Thank you for allowing me to share this story, this memory will never end!

Ignite Men’s Impact Weekend - March 17, 2017798 views“What a dream come true! Two of these photos are from 2016 Spring Training at Latrobe where Ben Roethlisberger stopped to sign my football because he saw I was having a hard time getting to where all the signing was talking place. He had his driver stop by me on his way out to sign. I just left an event tonight that Ben was a key note speaker at, and got a photo done with him, which was great beyond words! But I’m gonna start by saying that the picture, the signing, or seeing him face to face isn’t nearly as great as hearing this man’s testimony and love for God and his family! I’m happy he is my team’s QB, but all game and fame aside I’m glad to just know you as a man. I hope to catch a game in Pittsburgh one day before you call it quits (hint:hopefully not this year). Praying for you and the team, and for maturity in the locker room this year. Much love for Ben and the Steelers! P.S. I was so star-struck I forgot I had a picture to do with Tony Stewart! I walked past him while chatting with Big Ben about Harrison! Lol. What a memory! One I won’t forget ever!†— Erik Goughnour.

August, 2014 - Training Camp467 views“EJ Manuel pays close attention to Ben Roethlisbergerâ€
From Matthew Fairburn at the Syracuse Post-Standard:
The Buffalo Bills have a vision for what they want to be.
They want to be a tough, physical football team that depends on their defense and running game to win. They want to give their young quarterback — who has a big arm, can move his feet and is a handful to bring down — a chance to succeed by surrounding him with talent. Most of all, they want to get back to the playoffs and snap a 14-year drought.
In other words, they want to replicate what the Pittsburgh Steelers did early in Ben Roethlisberger’s career.
Yes, a Super Bowl is a lofty target for the Bills, who have gone 6-10 in each of the last three seasons, but general manager Doug Whaley spent time in the Steelers organization and wants a few things to rub off on his current team.
“Their toughness and their idea that nothing less is expected than a championship,†Whaley said. “That’s what we’re trying to get to.â€
Whaley has a particular vision for his second-year quarterback, EJ Manuel. He thinks he can be the Bills’ version of Roethlisberger — a big, strong-armed quarterback with some mobility. So Manuel was paying extra attention to the Steelers’ quarterback on Wednesday to see how he prepares and how he handles himself.
“It’s huge,†Manuel said of practicing with Roethlisberger. “I’ve always been a huge fan of Big Ben. Growing up in Virginia, it’s not too far from Pittsburgh, and obviously early in his career he took those guys to a Super Bowl, so like I said earlier, to get an opportunity to come out and practice with him is awesome.â€
